Consult a Shari'a lawyer

Based on your answer, Muslim Personal Law (PD 1083, Book Three, Arts. 89–136) may apply to your succession. Pamana currently supports Philippine Civil Code wills only, whose legitime rules differ from the rules in PD 1083. This is a Pamana service limit, not a rule that you cannot make a will. A lawyer experienced in PD 1083 succession can help you identify the correct process.

Where to look for counsel

Three Philippine institutions are starting points to ask about lawyers who practice Muslim Personal Law: the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the national bar association; the Public Attorney's Office (PAO), which provides free legal assistance to qualified indigent Filipinos; and the Shari'a District and Circuit Courts, which operate in designated judicial districts under PD 1083. A qualified lawyer can help identify the proper court or local route for your situation.
